3. International Bodrum Film festival

Before the opening concert, a coctail was organised for participants at Dösim Café in Bodrum Castle.During the coctail to which government authorities and more than 200 guests attended, a local dance show from the Çomakdag village was performed.
Two more awards were announced this year before the opening concert of the 3rd international Bodrum Film Festival. Besides the two new awards: “Herodot Peace Award” and “Halikarnas Fisherman’s Enviromental Award” , the special “Honor Award” and the “Eternity in Cinema” were delivered to their winners.

The Spanish film “Tornallom” by directors Enric Peris and Videohacker Miguel Bastos was rewarded the “Halikarnas Fisherman’s Enviromental Award”. The Palestinian film “Yasemin’s Song” by Najwa Najjar and the Israelan film ”Wall” by Simmone Bitton were rewarded the “Herodot Peace Award”.
The “Honor Award” was given to Reha Erdem whose 4 films were shown at the restrospective section of the festival for his contributions to the Turkish cinema. And Atif Yilmaz who was one of the most importatn directors of the Turkish cinema and died during the past weeks was given the award “Eternity in Cinema”.

The concert following the awards ceremony was favored by the residents of Bodrum. The winds of peace blews during the concert when the Greek singer Iris Mavraki sang her songs in Turkish at the Bodrum Castle. The concert lasted for two hours.
